Do not accept this. Governments are always greedy. They want more & more & ... Let them cut their own expenses and not increase taxes. Beware of terms like fiscal consolidation.

Privileged pensions in Croatia are a joke and everyone knows it. Healthy, working age men who did not even fight in the war receive benefits; and politicians take food from the mouths of citizens with their corruption and taxpayer financed lifestyles. Why do you think they do not want the list of veterans receiving pensions made public? Why could politicians retire on full benefits after one day in office? Sloth and corruption are driving Croatia into debt destruction.

People have to understand that abstaining from the vote does not equal NO. If you wanted a different outcome, then instead of encouraging people to vote Yes or No, how about just encouraging people to VOTE! The people of Croatia got the result they deserved. Those who care about their country vote, and those who do not care about their country stay at home and complain. Shame on you all. People in other countries fight and die for the right to vote, and Croats throw it away like it is meaningless. How sad.

It is tragic that all of those who proclaim to help Croatia move forward with new found freedoms rob the poor of the country. They should not be criminally charge with the crime of theft but more so treason for betraying the people of Croatia. If you try those in political office with treason it will end a great deal of corruption. After all what kind of crime is worse then stealing from your countryman.

They could always lower their prices. Instead of making millions a day they could offer some discounts to both Croats and the EU. Food products in Croatia are a lot higher then EU. Why? Go to Lidl in Jankomir Zagreb and then the Lidl across the border in Slovenia (20 minutes down the road) and many things are 25% to even 50% cheaper then Croatia. The truth is it will break the monopoly of the few big players in Croatia who charge above the average.
