I agree that Croatia is not ready to join the EU. We are weak and the powerful EU corporations will eat us up. Look at what has happened to other small weak countries. This is just about EU expansion. I would like to see a five year moratorium on EU entry.

Croatia is not ready, nor should it join the EU. Short and long term damage to its economy will be irrepairable. Prices will soar and the economy as it is now will not be able to withstand pressures from other EU countries/corporations.

Although I am for the EU I must also conclude that Croatia is not ready, and maybe never will be ready. However, joining just the trade bloc for easier imports would benefit on the short term (if new government would not increase PDV). The economy should first be strenghtened and rebuilt (Production, manufacturing, agriculture, tourism and season extension). If all this is done only then Croatia should reconsider. Entry now will only increase the unemployment rate due to easier travel conditions for cheap labor, e.g. Romania, Bulgaria. It is time that politicians sit together with truye economists to see what should be done, and I mean from outside Croatia. Do not be afraid of outside knowledge!

On behalf of new Zealand let me apologize for what is obviously an example of our terrible attitude toward drinking. I have also experienced this first hand while in Paris on my travels. I was embarrassed to be a kiwi. I think I can only point out there seems to be a strong support of the speaking out of Pave Zupan Ruskovic. again, I can only apologize and do wish to visit & respect your lovely country sometime in the future. regards Sam Doyle

It is very unfair that your Destination Manager for Dubrovnik has been sacked for speaking the truth. It seems to be a right of passage for young Australians to get drunk and behave extremely badly when overseas. Your wonderful city is no exception to this diplorable behaviour. One poll in Australia has support for her running at 90%. She should be reinstated immediately and the local Police should arrest more of these drunken youths and fine them heavily after spending a night in the cells. Most Australians are very embarrassed by these young people.

Exactly, we have to put up with these overpaid drunken idiots here so why should others put up with it. They create a nuisance to others and spoil their holidays.

Warning for this club! I was there along with two friends (September 2011.) We are from Sweden After one drink I got suspicious because they didn’t inform us any prices. Finally after my persistence the bar personal showed me that I had to pay 8400 kuna!! My friends also received this amount on their bills. Of course we refused, and when we did that the personal and the owner of This place got very threatening and the following happened: First of all, the guard blocked the exit of this club, so there where no possibility to Escape for us. I demanded to speak to the owner. All he had to say was” you have to Pay” and I had to receive several punches against my head from one of the guards! One guard held my friends hand against the bar desk, while the other guard showed him A hammer and said” if you don’t pay I use this on your hand” I remembered thinking, This was like a bad movie. In our shocked state, all we could do was to pay, so we could Get away from this place. It was beyond our imagination that such a place could exist In Split.
