....The City Assembly naming committee decided that the requested change spearheaded by the citizen initiative "Krug za trg" (Circle for square) was "inappropriate considering TitoÂ’s contribution in placing Croatia on the winning side in the fight against anti-fascism.".... surely it was the fight against facism!

I have spent the last 3 months in Croatia, and it is the most beautiful place, with the most beautiful people. I spent a week in hospital critically ill and have never had better treatment. Australia is going down the wrong path being tied up with the US etc, fight for your independance, Crotia is too beautiful to be influenced by the EU and world just for monetary gain MAYBE!! Be true to yourselves!! I am coming back in 6 months to hopefully live in such a great place....dont sell out!! XO

As an English man living in Croatia, I find it worring that the Crotia Times is giving free publicity to the BNP. The vast majority of people in the UK, find Andrew Brons and his far right racist coherts in the BNP, repulisve. In any case his party represents under 5% of the vote in the UK.

Mr. Pripuz as potential candidate for takeover seems to be best solution. In case he is going to be elected he can scrap the entire mill at CIOS at profitable rate. He can still keep the new steel mill what has been erected by CMC, as North-Croatian scrap unit of CIOS, and can nominate his nephew Zoran to be new director of the unit. In such scenario minimum 150 working places can be saved.

Main problem seems not to be anything as written, but simple fact that owner invested in something what did not improve profitability of main product line, what at the present stage can bring and brought only loss. In the same time owner closed the production lines that can bring a profit. Even in case all of 3 pipe mills to be most modern and capable to bring a profit, what they are not, subject will be not possible at annual production level of 25000 - 30000 tons/annum. Subject means that owner generally failed to brought management capable to find the customers, and on other hand invested money in ingot production, what basically cannot bring profit at all at the predicted and installed production level. In case the owner invested the money in new seamless pipe mill, then they will have some chances to earn the profit depending to the production quantity level, number of employees and their management ability to find the the customers.

The Croatian government, regardless of political persuasions, has no option but to support their generals. To do otherwise would destabilize the country and invite further aggression.
