Truck Fast

Marija Andric

A dozy trucker was lost in a forest for five hours after claiming satnav instructions to take his lorry down a tiny track.

The driver - delivering eight brand new Kia cars to a dealer - only stopped and dialed 999 when even the unmade bridle path ran out in Deutschlandsberg, Austria.

Fire fighters had to help him reverse out of the forest inch by inch for four hours until he could turn around again.

"The lorry was in danger of toppling over on the uneven surface so we had to go slowly," said a fire service spokesman.

The trucker told police: "I didn't know the road would get so narrow. I'd thought I would come out on the other side of the forest."
