Horrific images of a man tumbling 100ft to his death after hurling himself from the top of an eight storey building like a sky diver have emerged from Harbin, northern China.

Le Sung - a 26-year-old migrant worker in the city in Heilongjiang province - spent 30 minutes perched on a ledge talking to neighbour Sheng Li Sun, who was trying to persuade him to step back onto the roof.

Then, as he stepped off into thin air with his arms outstretched, he said "I'm Going" while Sun desperately tried to grab his hands.

"It was like watching a bungee jump without rope. He seemed completely calm when he jumped in the end," said one witness.

Paramedics said Le died instantly at the scene from multiple injuries.
