Determined Zeng Dongyang is showing his classmates a clean pair of heels at his new school in southern China - despite losing both his legs in a car crash.
Zeng - aged just 11 - walks to school every day in Guzhou, Hunan province - on specially built shoes which slip onto the bottom of his thighs.
Sometimes dad Feng gives him a lift on his bike but independent Zeng insists on jumping up into the saddle by himself.
Zeng lost his legs six years ago when they were crushed in a car accident and amputated at the thigh.
But at school he manages to climb three flights of stairs to get to his classroom and even has the energy for the odd football kickabout at playtime.
"I know I am not like other boys but that doesn't get me down and I like to do things the way everyone else does," said Zeng.
"I want to study hard and get to college. Education will be my legs - that's my road to a better life," he added.

Croatia to take part in building two pipelines
