Life's a gas for these students in southern China as they go through their compulsory military training before starting their university courses.
The teenagers were taking part in a chemical weapons drill at Shenzhen University, Guangdong province wearing respirators and bio-hazard germ warfare suits.
Nearly 3,000 youngsters took part in the fake poison gas attack on the last day of their training.
Under Chinese law, all students have to undergo 20 days training with the country's People's Liberation Army.
"The bio-hazard suits are a bit claustrophobic and smelly. But probably no smellier than the person I'm sharing my digs with," said one.
