Jail bosses in southern China weren't taking any chances with this ropy looking bunch of inmates when they transferred a whole prison population to a new building.
Guards ran out of chains to secure the 594 lags during the transfer, so they made do by lashing them together with rope instead.
Then the inmates - a mixture of murderers, crooks and petty thieves - were ferried to their new jail an hour's drive away in Fuxin, Sichuan province in a fleet of police coaches flanked by armed guards.
"With so many dangerous prisoners together at one time it was essential to prevent any escape attempts.
"I'm happy to report we didn't lose a single one," said a prison service spokesman.
