China's most famous monument - the Great Wall of China - faces its greatest test this week as hundreds of thousands of domestic tourists flock there during the country's week long official holiday.
The wall's best preserved section - 40 miles north of the capital Beijing - is expecting to cope with more than 80,000 visitors-a-time during China's Moon Festival.
Local traditions say they anyone who touches the wall during the festival will become a hero.
Experts reckon that more than 80 million visitors have visited this section of the wall in Badaling, including more than 300 heads of state and countless celebrities.
A new car park with more than 2,000 spaces has just been opened in time for the holiday rush - but other facilities are struggling to keep up.
"Walking the wall is hard work. I'd like to take a rest but there isn't anywhere to sit down - and don't even think about needing to use the loo," said one visitor.
