Basket Case

croatiantimes.com

Even at 76, great-grandmother Zhu Shumei is far from being a basket case when it comes to keeping fit.

At just 4ft 9ins it's a tall order to think she might have a future as a hoops star.

But Shumei has become a regular on the basketball training courts of her local college in Zhejiang University, Jinhua, Zhejiang province, eastern China.

"I've been playing basketball for 23 years and although I may be small I'm a good jumper and very accurate. It makes me feel like a young girl again," she explained.

As well as basketball, Shumei works out on the university's running track and its other PE equipment.

"I'm a lot fitter than some of the students you see here. They sit around doing nothing all day," she said.
