Wire in the Hood

croatiantimes.com

Angry neighbours have sparked a legal row in eastern China after suing a power company for leaving them to fix a lamppost with scraps of wire.

The pole - say locals in Ji’nan, Shandong province - is in danger of falling down since it started to split down the middle long its entire length.

Now they're claiming compensation from the electricity company for negligence.

"They ignored us completely so we've lashed it back together with pieces of wire, but it could break and fall at any time," said one protester.

"There's clearly been some sort of misunderstanding. We will look at their complaint again," said a spokesman for the Ji'nan power company.
