Top Gear car beats credit crunch

Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson's favourite maker has told how his 1.5 million GBP supercar has escaped the credit crunch.

Zonda boss Horacio Pagani says some of his cars are even going up in price thanks to the recession as investors seek new markets.

"Some years ago we launched the Zonda F that cost 620,000 GBP. Now it's worth 800,000 GBP. So price is something relative.

"Fortunately our company doesn't feel the credit crunch. Here, everybody works even on Saturday afternoons," he explained at the factory in Modena, northern Italy.

Car guru Clarkson described the current model - the Zonda R - as "biblically good".
