Bulgarian ambassador: Brit ban racist

croatiantimes.com

Britain's move to extend a ban on immigrant Bulgarian workers has been blasted as racist by the country's new ambassador in London.

Bulgaria's new senior diplomat Lyubomir Kyuchukov said Bulgaria and Romania - also affected by the ban until 2011 - had been discriminated against by the UK.

"The peculiar thing about the UK is that they had no work restrictions for the ten EU member states who joined in 2004, but they do for Bulgaria and Romania.

"There are other EU countries which have treated all new members equally," he said.
