The world's richest god is seeking insurers to cover his gold and diamond image on earth for a heavenly 8 billion GBP.
The statue - of Hindu deity Lord Tirupati - is carved from 20 tonnes of solid gold and studded with countless diamonds, rubies and other precious gems.
Now religious authorities are seeking insurers to cover the icon at its specially built temple in Andhra Pradesh, southern India, where more than 100,000 devotees visit it every day.
"We of course have faith in Lord Vishnu to keep us safe - but these days you have to have good insurance too.
"They are in discussions with a number of insurance groups about getting the right level of cover," said a temple official.
