Monk-ey Business

croatiantimes.com

They say never work with children and animals.

So when this Buddhist priest was joined by two playful primates as he gave a live TV interview, he should probably have known it would lead to monk-ey business.

Master Yancan - head of the Buddhism Association in Cangzhou, Hebei province, northern China - was supposed to be talking about a series of lectures he was giving on the forgiving nature of his religion.

But he needed all his religious training to keep karma while these two cheeky monkeys gatecrashed the interview.

"First they tried to get his attention by tugging on his sleeve," said one TV technician.

"Then when that didn't work they sat on his face and head. It was very difficult for him," they added.

But Master Yancan clearly didn't mind the pair making a monkey of him, and wrote a poem to them saying:"Perhaps in our former life, we departed in a hurry, but in this life, we don’t have to rush our closeness. Dear friends, please be more gentle."
