Ears one bunny who finally got the point after driving fed up neighbours hopping mad eating their plants and vegetables.

Bodo - allowed to live wild by his owners - had run riot in Worme, Germany, where one fed-up gardener was driven to extreme measures to protect his carrot crop.

"I'm always chasing him out of my garden, he's a real pest. But when he turned up one morning I couldn't believe it when I saw a crossbow bolt sticking out of his neck," said neighbour Petra Jurss.

"It didn't seem to be bothering him but I called the police because it's terrible that someone could do this," she added.

Vets and wildlife experts managed to removed the bolt from Bodo's neck and say he is making a full recovery.

A police spokesman said: "We have interviewed several people but no-one is saying anything and nobody saw or heard anything. He isn't a very popular animal."
