Man Sues Former Lover for Infecting Him with HIV

A German man is demanding half a million pounds from his former Italian gay lover for allegedly giving him the HIV virus.
The case is being heard at a court in the northern Italian town of Bolzano.
The couple got together in 2004 and at the beginning of their relationship underwent HIV tests, which both came back negative.
But in 2010 the German man heard rumours from friends that his Italian partner had contracted the virus. He asked him about it and the Italian showed him a test result that was negative.
Not believing his boyfriend, the German man tested himself again and found out he had been infected. He is now suing his ex-lover for £500,000 compensation.
