Oar-some Record

croatiantimes.com

It may not win an Olympic medal, but these Swiss dinghy fans put in an oar-some performance to claim a new world record.

The 1,268 boaters took to the Aar River in Bern to set a new world best for the most people paddling along a waterway at the same time.

Fans - some in fancy dress and others sporting pirate skull and crossbones - took two hours to complete the course cheered on by fans from bridges.

One participant David Meyer, 24, from Solothurn - said: "I have never been boating on the river before and this was great. It was a big swimming party. It was fun to be with so many other people on the river."
