Pranksters who forged Swedish coins branding the country's King Carl Gustav a "whore-monger" are being sought by police in Stockholm.
Royal fans flipped when the coins - almost identical to the real thing - appeared with an altered motto reading, "Var horkarl till Kung", which translates as "Our whore-monger of a King."
The recent biography of the king detailed sex parties staged for him and his friends by Mille Markovic, a Serbian gangster, and a steamy fling with Nigerian-Swedish singer Camilla Henemark.
Now currency officials have revealed that the forgeries have been constructed from genuine one Krona coins which have been hollowed out to allow a new motto to be inserted.
"Whoever made it is clearly skilled," explained Ian Wisehn from Sweden’s Royal Coin Cabinet.
