This thrifty driver with a package to deliver in western China boxed clever when he refused to splash out on a roof rack - and got his mates to lend a hand.
The car - snapped by passers by in Xi’an, Shaanxi province - was later stopped by police who refused to let the driver go any further.
"It looked like he had a giant on the back seat with huge arms but he had two friends in their each holding one side of the box through the open window," said one officer.
"He was clearly a danger to other road users and had to be stopped," they added.

Croatia to take part in building two pipelines
Representatives of the Governments of Croatia, Montenegro, Albania, and Bosnia and Herzegovina signed a memorandum highlighting their intention to construct two new pipelines - the Trans-Adriatic (Trans Adriatic Pipeline, TAP) and the Ionian-Adriatic (Ionian Adriatic Pipeline, IAP), the news agency RIA Novosti reports.
