This is high school - Chinese style.
When the children of these angry mums were turned down for places at local schools, they went straight to the top - and threatened to throw themselves off.
The trio invaded the education office in the town hall in Nanchang, Jiangxi province, southern China, and told staff they would hurl themselves out of the fourth floor window unless their children were allowed to go to school.
All the mums are migrant workers from other parts of China and, under local law, have no right to free education in their new home.
"We can get into school but only if we pay someone a lot of money. That is just wrong and we want our children to have the same rights as anyone else," said one.
The two hour stand off only ended when one of the mums fell ill and rescuers managed to rush the group and pull them from the window ledge to safety.
"We promise we will look again at their applications," said one official.
