Its Off - 50M GBP Racetrack Flops

City planners in eastern China are for the high jump after blowing 50 million GBP on a horse racing track - and then having to turn it into a car park.
The track - in Nanjing, Jiangsu province - was supposed to be the country's leading course and one of the biggest in Asia, but hosted just one meeting in 2003.
Now it's been turned into a car park on the outskirts of the city where commuters and local garages leave their cars.
Other parts of the complex are rented out as stables for horse owners.
The track flopped after designers forgot to build a medically isolated stables for horses arriving under quarantine regulations.
"They wasted all that money on a race track just to park cars there. We are calling for an official investigation into this scandal," said one critic.

Croatia to take part in building two pipelines
