A motorway was closed in central China amid chaos caused when a lorryload of pigs collided with a truck carrying a truck loaded with hundreds of bottles of whisky.
Nearly 200 pigs spilled onto the highway in Nanyang, Henan province, after the driver Feng Shin overturned in heavy rain and only a handful were recovered.
Police battled for more than an hour to seal off the roadway from locals and other motorists who stopped to salvage unbroken booze bottles and pigs that had survived the crash.
Officials finally managed to clear the road more than five hours after the accident.
"There were crops planted along the roadside and many of the pigs made straight for them and simply disappeared," said a police spokesman.
