What the Flock?

At first glance, you might think it's the perfect pastoral scene of sheep gambolling in the fields.
But on closer examination of the slightly bizarre-looking lambs, you could well be left wondering what the flock is going on?
Inner Mongolia, in northern China's heartland, was once a giant grassland where sheep and cattle grazed in massive numbers.
But huge tracts of land have been given over to mining companies who have dug up the best animal pastures.
So officials in Horqin Grassland asked local sculptors to create a flock of fake sheep, to help preserve the district's pastoral past.
"We have to develop the economy but we want to do everything we can to preserve the beauty of the land," said a government spokesman.
