Would queue believe it?

Hard-working university students in eastern China turned up a week early before the start of term so they could queue for the best seats in the lecture rooms.

Hundreds of students in their final year at Nanning Audit University, Jiangsu province, slept in the corridors overnight so they could claim their spaces as soon as the classrooms opened the next day.

"Once you claim a seat it is yours for the term so you need to be sharp to get a good seat so you can see what's going on because some of the classes are very large.

"It's an important year with important exams so you need all the help you can get," explained student Li Chiang.

"Lectures don't start for another week.

"But if you're too slow you won't be able to see or hear anything.

"So we were all here in the corridor as soon as the university opened its doors," Chiang added.
