With the slow pace of life in Montenegro considered the main selling point for tourism, it is no surprise that the country plays host to the annual lazy Olympics.
The organisers admit that they probably should have advertised the event but could not be bothered - in keeping with the spirit of the 2nd International Lazy Olympics.
But despite that, this year's event set to take place on a pasture in the shade of an oak tree on the outskirts of the Ethno Village of Breznik in Montenegro's Piva Region has even attracted international contestants determined to show that their country can do lazy to world-class standard.
The contestants will only get the chance to engage in one event, which is basically lying under the oak tree being lazy. Anybody who seems to be putting too much effort into being lazy is disqualified, and the winner is the person who successfully continues to be lazy for the longest period of time.
The judges, in keeping with the spirit of the event, have not produced a rulebook because it is too much effort, and many of the judges do not even bother to watch the other contestants because they themselves are also too busy sleeping under the oak tree.
As a spectator sport however it is attracted large crowds, who are perhaps more attracted by the opportunity to get out into the countryside and enjoy some of the local cuisine on offer. But locals have made a point of only serving up things that are easy to knock together, as befits the lazy motto of the festival.
Last year's winner Vladan Bajalica from the central town of Niksic scooped the title after being lazy under the oak tree for 32 hours. He said: "Actually being really lazy takes a surprising amount of concentration and effort. I think only someone who puts a lot of effort into being really lazy will win this year because the competition is even tougher."
The winner this year gets a cash prize of 300 GBP, because drawing the money out of the bank was easier than bothering to make a medal.
