Brodosplit launches new tanker for Swedish company

Brodosplit shipyard in Split has launched a new tanker for Concordia Maritime AB, an international tanker company in Sweden.

The new P-MAX-type tanker is for transport of oil and oil products in polar areas. The tanker will be able to break ice up to one metre thick.

It has a capacity of 65,056 tonnes and a top speed of 14.9 knots. It is 182.99 metres long and 40 metres wide.

It is the second of four tankers Brodosplit is building for Concordia Maritime AB, and the third of six launches planned in 2009.

Concordia Maritime AB has been doing business with Brodosplit for many years. Brodosplit has delivered seven tankers to the firm since 2005.
