The first virtual 3D shopping centre, Trillenium, will open in Zagreb on 2 November on 180,000 square metres of virtual space.
The project is worth around one million Euros and should involve 90 domestic and foreign companies, Trillenium said.
Project founder and investor is Zagreb company Trillenium and its part-owner, Hrvoje Prpic, who started HGspot, a leading Croatian company in producing and selling computers and computer equipment.
The unique project will be aimed not only at the Croatian market but also at foreign markets.
It will include shopping on the internet. The buyer will just need to enter the site www.trillenium.hr and start to shop. The products will be shown in 3D resolution.
Trillenium head and project leader Tomica Radosevic said today (Mon) the centre would also offer social, business and entertainment content.
Prpic said he expected annual turnover of 100 million kunas or 14,000 Euros but added he did not expect to make a profit right away since the project would use Croatia as a trial market.
Prpic said: "There is no other such project in the world. If we succeed in this, we will be the first in the world, and that will be a great success for Croatia."
He added one could even rent a place in which to do business at the centre, which will have human as well as virtual salesmen.
Trillenium is planning to open centres in Split, Rijeka and Osijek, as well as in Zagreb, and to expand the business into the US ,German, Spanish and other markets.
