Craftsmen to be no longer privileged by law
Croatian Times
The Croatian Constitutional Court has abolished a law that favoured craftsmen over other businessmen.
The law had allowed craftsman to guarantee their business obligations solely with their business property, whereas others had to guarantee them with additional assets including private possessions.
The judges said the provision had led to a situation of inequality before the law and could have been abused, especially in cases of collecting debt taken on by businesses that subsequently went bankrupt.
The court’s ruling will enter into force on 15 July, Croatian business portal Poslovni has reported.
