Police press criminal charges against factory managers
Croatian Times
Police have pressed criminal charges against Split’s Zeljezara ironworks factory’s Polish heads Ryszard Bernard Giemz and Michal Ireneusz Koncezak.
Police have charged them with business malversation, document falsification and failure to pay employees.
They are suspected of having damaged the factory to the tune of 18.8 million kunas or 2.6 million Euros and of having caused its shares to lose value by having diminished the firm’s
own capital by making a bad agreement with the firm Trast.
The factory ceased production owing to financial problems in February 2009.
Zeljezara Split is owned in large part by Polish company Zlomrex, which has agreed to sell it, but a new buyer has not been found.
