Good potential for tourist
Croatian Times
The first indicators point to a good post-season in tourism, suggesting that the season could possibly be extended this year for the first time ever, the Minister of Tourism Damir Bajs said.
Commenting on the positive results for July and August, Bajs said: "We mustn’t be prematurely euphoric, but we must work to the end of the season. Our guests must receive good service and a smile in the post-season."
August is the most important month for Croatian tourism considering that it makes up one fourth of total results. According to the research by the world tourism associations, Croatia and Turkey seem to be the only Mediterranean countries registering an increase in tourism this year considering the number of guests and overnight stays.
The unofficial estimates show that the Spain’s tourism fell eight per cent this year, while Turkey and Croatia registered a nine and a five per cent growth, respectively.
