Kempinski Adriatic hotel has been included in Wallpaper magazine’s "Best Business Hotels 2010" competition just a year after opening its doors in Savudrija (Istria).
The hotel is one of the 40 candidates from across the world vying for the title. Amongst the competition is Grand Kempinski in Slovakia plus eight other European contenders - 16 from North and Central America, eight from near East and Africa and six from Asia and Oceania.
Some of the advantages of the Kempinski Adriatic listed on the magazine's website are the possibility of airport transfer by either helicopter or boat, the availability of a conference room that can seat up to 320 guests, a hotel business centre that can seat as many as 250 people and a new conference centre in the marina.
The spokesperson for the hotel Lena Svilicic said that Wallpaper's nomination is one of three important recognitions that he hotel has received just in the first year since its opening.
The magazine also reports what appears to be a blurring of boundaries between business hotels and resorts, a trend that Wallpaper magazine attributes to the crisis. In the fight for guests, resort hotels are strengthening specific services aimed at businessmen, while business hotels are paying more attention to design and leisure activities, the magazine writes.
Wallpaper and Fortune magazines have teamed up to select a panel of 11 well-travelled judges who will confer the coveted title upon the winner.
