Helifor to build new heliport in Croatia
Croatian Times
Helifor company has announced it will build a heliport in Croatia as none of the current landing surfaces are suitable and they lack proper documentation.
The company plans to finance its investment from the European Union pre-accession fund, which offers 85 per cent financing for regional development projects. Helifor’s Djani Bodlovic says that development of a heliport network is important for tourism, traffic, transporting the ill and injured.
Bodlovic believes that the protection zone around the heliport could serve as a photovoltaic power plant that would ensure energy supplies for the heliport’s needs. The plant would be built in cooperation with AdriaticSolarPower consortium, the daily Vecernji List writes.
The company has received support from Zagreb airport and the city of Velika Gorica as the project would create new jobs. Zagreb airport, however, is not interested in participating as co-investor as it plans to build its own heliport as part of its expansion project.
