The Tourism Department of the Croatian Chamber of Commerce (CCC) will launch regional workshops to better inform and prepare its members on the possibility of accessing European funds for tourism, reports Croatian radio television.
The interactive and practical workshops, which will be funded by EU, aim to educate employees in the tourism industry, and also other interested business people.
Given that the pre-accession funds are not so focused on the tourism industry, there is great optimism for next year, when Croatia becomes a full member state of the EU, and the opening of structural funds which will allow the use of EU funds for tourism to a much greater extent.
"The CCC has recognised very early the necessity for educating the commerce sector on issues relating to entering the EU, and to use every opportunity to further inform and launch new initiatives," said Leila Kresic-Juric, from CCC, adding that the tourism sector of the CCC is actively giving its opinion about various issues and also coordinating workshops and groups involved in the process of developing a strategy for tourism development for the period from 2014 to 2020.
