Record weekend with more than 25,000 tourists on ferries in Split

Although according to the calendar, summer has not yet officially started, a record number of tourists surged to Croatia's Adriatic coast and the Croatian islands over the weekend, reports index.hr.
"There have been alot of school excursions, domestic and foreign tourists have also come, with the most amount of tourists coming from the Czech Republic, Slovenia and Austria," said ferry company Jadrolinija's coordinator for Split, Ante Mrvica.
"There has been alot of traffic, we can say this has been the busiest weekend so far. This weekend also had the hottest weather. I estimate that this weekend on the ferries to and from the port of Split, there were over 25,000 passengers," concluded Mrvica.
