There have been more than 11,000 applications for the Croatian Ministry of Business and Trade's project -'Entrepreneur impulse', a project which has made available 70.5 million kuna (close to 10 million Euros) of non-refundable state money via grants for seven projects.

Minister Gordan Maras says that payments of the grants to the successful applicants will begin next week. The grants will be divided up into the following segments: Enhancing International Competitiveness - 25 million kuna (3.2 million Euros), new technology - 22.5 million kuna (3 million kuna), market position and success - 5 million kuna  (700 thousand Euros), cluster together to success - 6 million kuna (800 thousand Euros), institution support -  5 million kuna, entrepreneurship in culture - 4 million kuna (520 million Euros) and social entrepreneurship - 3 million kuna (480 thousand Euros).

Maras also stated that there has been a positive trend with tradespeople Croatia. In June alone more than 4,400 new tradespeople opened up, with the number of unemployed tradespeople also in decline. In the first five months of 2012 more than 6,300 new work places have opened up for tradespeople, a 30 per cent increase from the same period last year, reports Croatian radio television.
