Israeli Tourism Minister in Croatia: 'Croatia is exactly what Israelis want'

Croatian Times

Israel's Minister of Tourism Stas Misezhnikov, has met with his Croatian counterpart Veljko Ostojic on an official visit to Croatia where the pair discussed activities in terms of increasing tourism exchanges between the two countries, as well as cooperation in the field of investment, reports webiste index.hr.

"In Croatia there are already several tourist projects which are maintained and developed in cooperation with potential investors from Israel and that they hope to continue and improve," said Ostojic.

In 2011 there were 30,000 tourists from Israel in Croatia, clocking up 80,000 overnight stays and Misezhnikov is adamant that Croatia is becoming more and more attractive to Israelis.

"Israeli hoteliers are looking for new destinations to invest their money and Croatia is one of the great destinations. The season for Israeli's lasts from the start of April till October and until now most citizens have gone to Turkey for their holidays but that will not be the case anymore. We are looking for new destinations and Croatia has so much to offer." stated the Israeli Tourist Minister.

Misezhnikov says that Croatia's excellent climate, and the combination of sea, lakes and forests, is exactly what the Israelis are looking for and believes Croatia can be a sought after destination for over 100,000 Israelis.
