Scandinavians plan to take over Croatian retail market

Investors from Scandinavia and the Baltic countries, who are behind the recently opened hypermarket B-Hyper in the center of the northern Croatian city of Varazdin, have plans to take 20 to 30 percent of the retail market share in Croatia, reports poslovni.hr.
"We consider Croatia the country with the biggest growth potential because of its status as a future EU member and because of its strategic location with future EU borders. Currently we are looking at locations for new business in Zagreb, Split, Osijek, Rijeka, Pula and Karlovac, but also in Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and even in some countries in the Middle East." says Knut Kvisvik, CEO of B-Hyper, an international company with more than 20 years experience in the retail sector, whose development is supported by private equity funds.
More than five million euros was invested in the first B-Hyper hypermarket, which opened in May in Varazdin. The premise of five thousand square meters, which offers over 30,000 products, employs about a hundred people.
