The registered unemployment rate in Croatia for June was 17.3 per cent, a drop of 0.7 per cent on the previous month of May when it was recorded at 18 per cent, announced the Central Bureau of Statistics on Monday.
June was the third month in a row where the rate has been in decline, thanks largely to seasonal employment in tourism related activities. In March the rate was recorded at 20 per cent, dropping to 19.1 per cent in April.
However, as website limun.hr reports, the annual registered unemployment rate is on the rise. In June 2011 the rate was 16.9 per cent, which is a rise of 0.4 per cent this year. The unemployment rate is calculated as the ratio of unemployed people registered at the Croatian Employment Service.
