Bavaria comes to Opatija

Croatia is looking to strengthen its economic ties with Germany by paying host at the ‘Bavaria, economic partner - Experiences and Opportunities’ conference in Opatija.

Statistics presented at the event in the northern Adriatic town show that trade between Croatia and Bavaria in 2011 totaled 562 million Euros.

The German province imported goods worth 237 million Euros and exported 325 million Euros.

The main products imported from Croatia included electrical equipment, clothing and machinery.

Those exported from Bavaria included machinery, chemicals and transportation equipment, reports news website Business.hr.

More than 1,300 Bavarian companies have business relations with Croatia, of which about 300 have offices and facilities in Croatia.
 
The gathering featured the German-Croatian Chamber of Industry and Commerce, which has more than 300 members.

They include Vivera Bavarian company, Siemens, Knauf, Haixi, Meggle, Allianz, dm, Lufthansa, RWE, RTL, and Croatian companies such as Duran Group, BM Project Bimont.
