Government approves labour law changes
Croatian Times
The Croatian government approved changes in the labour law and sent them to Parliament.
The changes provide for four weeks of holiday as opposed to the current 18 days and limit the working week to no more than 40 hours plus eight hours overtime.
But the working week could be lengthened to 56 hours with workers' approval in the area of seasonal services such as in tourism.
Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor had said negotiations with the unions about the changes had lasted for 15 months but noted the need to deal with the problem of jobs that lasted for short periods.
