Nobel Laureate to visit Split University

A Nobel Laureate is to visit Split University, it has been announced.

Toshihide Maskawa, Nobel Laureate in Physics, has accepted an invitation to visit Split University soon, university officials said last week.

Maskawa won the 2008 Nobel Prize in Physics "or the discovery of the origin of the broken symmetry which predicts the existence of at least three families of quarks in nature.

The invitation was made as a delegation from Split University took part at 60th anniversary of Niigata University in Japan from 16 – 21 October following cooperation on a project concerns to use land to reduce the number of natural disasters such as landslides and floods in Croatia.
