Djurdja Adlesic to leave politics
Croatian Times
Djurdja Adlesic, the Croatian Social Liberal (HSLS) chief, has announced she will leave politics because she is worn out.
In an interview on Croatian television, Adlesic said she would resign not just the position of HSLS head but also the position of Croatian Deputy Prime Minister.
She said she would give her Croatian Deputy Prime Minister mandate to the future head of HSLS.
Adlesic said: "I have been too long in politics, and it is time for new people who will bring some new dynamics. I believe they can do that. Those young have more energy with which to prepare themselves for the next election."
Adlesic, 49, also said she was planning to help the new party head in his work.
The HSLS party election will be held on 14 November in Slavonski Brod, and Darinko Kosor, Drazen Breglec and Davor Zmegac are standing for election as new party leader.
