Second swine-flu death in Croatia

Croatian Times

A second person died from swine flu on Saturday in Croatia, according to the official website of Croatian institute for health insurance.

A 61-year-old man who died in Split hospital on 31 October from massive organ failure was the first swine flu fatality in Croatia.

There are officially 1,509 people with swine flu in Croatia.

Health Minister Darko Milinovic said six patients had been hospitalized at Zagreb’s Fran Mihaljevic clinic and two of them are in severe condition but their lives are not in dangerous.

The minister stressed there was no reason for panic because the government had planned for a pandemic. Some 500,000 doses of vaccine will arrive in Croatia by the end of November.
