Kidnapper arrested in Croatia

Croatian Times

Croatian border police have arrested a 39-year-old man for kidnapping his ex-wife and three children.

He kidnapped his ex-wife, 39, and three young children in Germany and planned to take them in a car with German plates across Croatia to Albania.

The police arrested him at Klek at the Croatian-Bosnia-Herzegovina border yesterday (Monday) after Interpol had informed them it was looking for the man.

The man was arrested, and his wife was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.

According to initial information, the man used a stun-gun to force his ex-wife to enter the car with their children on 8 November in Augsburg, Germany.

The man threatened to blow them all up if his wife tried to escape.

The police found handcuffs, spray, and metal chains, among other things, in the car.

The family is Italian but has been living in Germany.
