People across the country have marched through the streets with candles as they mark the anniversary of one of the bloodiest battles of the Croatian War of Independence.
The traditional marches yesterday (Tues) and today are held in remembrance of the victims of the battle of Vukovar in 1991.
Around 1,700 people were killed in an 87-day siege of the town by Serb military. Between 18 November and 21 November just after the town had finally fallen to the Yugoslav army, hundreds of prisoners of war and civilians were murdered by Serb forces and paramilitaries.
