Police investigate train derailment

Four people were injured after a train on the Zagreb- Rijeka line derailed on Sunday morning.

The driver, his assistant and two people sitting on a bench at the Susak – Pecine railway station were hurt in the incident which happened at 3.05 am.

Media have speculated that human error or even sabotage may have been behind the accident.

The driver told Croatian national television HRT that police had tried to force him into a confessing to causing the accident during questioning. Police have refused to comment.
