Zadar cathedral gets organ costing €915,000

Croatian Times

Zadar’s St. Anastasia Cathedral has received a new organ worth 915,000 Euros.

The instrument was played for the first time yesterday (Thurs) and was also blessed by Zadar Archbishop Ivan Predja. The organ was made at Eisenbarth workshop in Passau, Germany.

It is the third-biggest organ in Croatia. The two bigger organs are in the Zagreb and Djakovo cathedrals.

The new organ has 4,026 pipes. The previous one was damaged in the Homeland War in the 1990s and needed to be replaced.

The money was contributed by the Croatian Catholic mission in Europe, Zadar companies and individuals.
