Ivan Pesic stabbed by Nemeth Gyozo

Croatian Times

A Hungarian citizen has been indicted for the murder of Romanian handball player Marian Cozma a year ago in Hungary, according to MTI news agency.

Police in Veszprem announced today (Thurs) that Raffael Sandor from Sarbogard had stabbed Cozma in the heart and caused his death after stabbing him in the kidney.

The investigation of the case had ended, police said.

Police Chief Pogany Peter said Croat player Ivan Pesic, who was a colleague of Cozma's on local handball team MKB Veszprem, had been stabbed in the kidney by Nemeth Gyozo from Budapest. Serb player Zarko Sesum was also hurt by Gyozo.

The two, together with Sztoica Ivan from Enying, have been indicted for murder, complicity in murder and aggravated assault and battery, Romanian Times has reported.

Cozma, then 26, was stabbed to death on 8 February 2009 in the Patriota club in Veszprem, Hungary. His teammates Serb Zarko Sesum and Croat Ivan Pesic were severely injured.

Cozma, who was stabbed in the heart, was the only person killed in the brawl.
