Croat arrested in Ireland for plotting cartoonist´s murder

One of the men arrested on Monday in Ireland for allegedly plotting the murder of Swedish cartoonist Lars Vilks is a Croatian citizen.
Vilks’ recent depiction of the prophet Muhammad with a dog’s body incensed parts of the Muslim world.
The Irish police confirmed to the Croatian consulate in Dublin that the 26-year-old Croat had been living in Waterford, Ireland since 2005. No details that would further identify the suspect were given to the media.
Three women and four men have been arrested for allegedly plotting Vilk’s murder. He has been in hiding since he received the first threats after publication of his controversial drawing.
Al-Qaida has put a 100.000 dollar (73 000 Euros) bounty on his head, Croatian business portal Business.hr has reported.
